[...] Andrew Steele was not given a scholarship just because he is Ron’s younger brother. He is bigger than Ron, and a more physical player now that Ronald was at the same age. He received a little football recruiting attention as a safety before he made it known that he would pursue basketball in his collegiate career. [...]
[...] Demetrius Jemison, who was mainly a role player last year,
[...] Anthony Brock is a diminutive junior college All American point guard. His main role this season looks to be keeping Ron Steele’s minutes down to reasonable levels, to protect his knees and keep him fresh. Brock is lightning quick, has a good perimeter game in terms of shooting and his ability to pass the ball.
Great write up RTR. Glad the defensive line guys got the award this week.

I think Tebow had/has the “it” factor…
And Florida showed it, too, can play smash mouth with the best of them, Bama included. UF is not just flash. But I guess you know that now. 31 points with our “flashiest” playmaker sidelined with injury, and with our team having missed a field goal as well. STILL beat Bama by double-digits.
Nothing against Bama, great game by a great team, but I read your 3-part analysis prior to it with considerable disbelief. Seemed to show little respect for Florida, implying in tone that the Gators should just shrivel and tremble at the mere mention of the mighty Crimson Tide. Well, that’s not Florida’s style. The better team definitely earned the SEC crown this year *on the field* in Atlanta, and showed which is more versatile, talented, and balanced. And just like Bama, UF is young and will be back.
[...] Game By Game – The University of Alabama 2008 Football Season .Could Nick Saban have done something that Alabama hasn’t seen in years, A National Championship contender? I’m sorry, but not only did Bama forget how to tackle, they looked like they had never been on a football field before! I have never been a John Parker fan and never will be. I know once we get a real QB, who is a real leader, we will be fine. J.P. Wilson runs around like he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. The only time he runs(and runs fast) is when it’s 25 the wrong way when he panics. I am glad Bama had a good season, but most of the wins weren’t that impressive. Clemson and Auburn are the only 2 games they looked really good. Virginia Tech is first on the list next year and they looked pretty solid in their win. Let’s see what kind of recruitng class this year brings! Roll Tide!!

I would like to coin a phrase – after all that John 3:16 talk Tebow did.
the phrase is Saban 3:13 it means 3rd year coaching and 13th National Championship
Grant may well be the guy, and he is certainly a coach that I could enthusiatically support if he were the hire. Still, I want our searchers to move carefully in this process, and land the coach who will be the best fit for Alabama. I don’t think that Grant will be in a hurry to make a move until the Kentucky situation sorts itself out, unless someone dangles a big pile of cash in front of him. I don’t want us to position ourselves as having to outbid Kentucky or get the jump on Kentucky, as we will likely lose any hiring battle with them. If he prefers UGA to us, so be it.

I have been following Nick Saban’s and the UA’s football recruiting trail every since Nick Saban took over as head coach and the team’s to beat have been the same every year. And now alot of those teams are trying to step into Nick Saban’s back yard to recruit. I hope that Nick Saban becomes more aggressive and takes the fight to these teams front and back(and side to side )yards. I am ex military and one of the key ways of defeating your enemy is to know his strenghths weaknesses and the areas where he is idle and stable. In short constantly familiarize yourself withyour enemy. I am hoping that we can once again get a top recruiting class in 2010. But lets be more aggressive and take the fight to our enemies until they give in.

Great analysis, Howard. I’d certainly expect some up-tempo games once he has the players to do it. This makes for a more fun game to watch.
I’m very impressed with how Alabama has gone through this process. If I was a recruit, the excitement about such a quality coach and backing of the basketball program is going to outweigh any disappointment in the change… but we will see.

We are doing a Great job recruiting but I am asking the Alabama fans to get more involved in the recruiting process. To win a war you recruit and train good soldiers, that’s where it all begins. We need some 5 star recruits to commit and let’s win the recruiting battle.
In order for Alabama football to be successful these are the areas where we must win.
1. Win Recruiting(#1 again and again and again)
2. Win Spring game(A-day) attendance(beat Ohio State’s record)
3. Win all regular season games(especially Auburn)
4. Win the SEC west Championship( beat LSU and OLE MISS)
5. Win the SEC Championship(beat Florida)
6. Win the National Championship(beat either Texas, Oklahoma or USC)
7. Play and win as many nationally televised games as possible
8. Send more players to the NFL than any other team every year(Win that battle) 9. Fans, players coaches, alumni and all students and instructors must be
recruiters and faithful supporters of Alabama Athletics.
10. All games must be sold out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11. Continuous improvement in all areas.
12. Good press
13. Academic scores at all time high
14. Stadium and training facility improvements
15. Play and beat the best!!!!
Then and only then will we have a successful program and be destined for greatness.
If you are a true Bama fan pass this along to another who is true. If not keep it moving.
By the way I personally think Craig Sanders is an excellent commitment to Alabama and I know that he will be an excellent recruiter for Alabama football.
As are all of the other present commitments to the program.
Find out how you can help Our entire Athletics and Academics programs be successful and do your part.
Nick Saban is a great coach. I hope he decides to stay and continue to build our program. But Nick let’s win all the necessary battles to be successful. Let’s get top recruits in all of Alabama’s programs. A kind of I scratch your back if you scratch mine throughout the entire Athletics department. Team work builds College prorams.Hey Nick the same things you ask of the fans i ask of you and the rest of the coaches within Alabama Athletics program. Step it up a couple of notches.
In all areas there is a team to beat, first figure out who that team is then beat them and continue to win.
If you are military or ex military compare Alabama Athletics to your foxhole and/or fighting position and what you must do to it daily.
if you are not military ask someone who is.
Pass it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah i know its early but mak sure you check these sites to see where we stand in recruiting. Thanks

Whoever updates these Alabama FOOTBALL Recruiting websites needs to stay in tuned to scouts.com and rivals.com. Because all of Alabama football commitments are not on any of the Alabama or UA websites that I have checked. Once again let’s be fair and do our part if we want to win. I wonder if programs like Florida, LSU, USC, OHIO STATE, Texas, Oklahoma and Penn State have these same problems. Catch up Alabama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next big thing: 2009 recruits arrive at Capstone, Summer camps, Tracking Trent Richardson and other 5 star recruits…………………………………………..
Last but not least will we ever have a quarterback at the UA of the same caliber as TEBOW, BRADFORD or McCOY?????????????????????????????????????
Let’s catchup ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many true freshman can Alabama produce this year?next year?
Depth needs to be aquired in all positions especially DB and LB if we plan to beat Florida in the near future. On the offensive line also. Tell me what caused us to lose against Utah and Florida. And look back at all the games from 2008-2009 season and tell me where needed help in all areas that were weak. We have to select a calibur of players who wants to win Championships but won’t assume that they should win because of a number one recruiting class or a top ranked defense or just good playmakers. Hard work all day everyday and a mind set that you can always be and /or get better wins championships.
A lot of key players left and will continue to leave every year that’s why you always need depth in every position. Support your team no matter win or loss but examine the games thoroughly and discuss the type of things in your blogs that need to be discussed like mistakes, how to win, recruits and more serious issues than arguing with Auburn fans.
Upgrades to training/practice facilities and venues. And oh yeah great positive marketing strategies wins recruiting also. Watch and learn from the Great Nick Saban and the Great Anthony Grant…….
How will Alabama adjust to the cap on signees to 28?
More 2009 Recruits report to Capstone 31 May 09(Time to get to work gentlemen)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last but not least winning in all sports on and off the field/ in and out of the classroom helps to make a GREAT!!!!!!!! Athletics program and Institute of Higher Learning……
Alabama let’s sign some winning coaches in all sports and let’s win Championships in ALL sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WIN WIN WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Craig Sanders,” WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Things to get fixed over the summer: 1. Greg McElroy needs to get alot better, maybe play to the caliber of a Colt McCoy type QB. The QB coach has got his hands full. But im confident he will showcase.
2. The O-line needs major work. A lot of gaps to fill and a lot of extensive training to be done. Leadership needs to step and be shown by vets.
3. Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush. Got to be dominant in this area.
4. Defense needs to be prepared to play against the spread better and more often. Definately alot more training in this area.
5. Injuries………….. We are ALABAMA guys, toughen up and do it quick…. Hey Cochran(Scott) step it up baby!!!!!!!!
6. Wide-outs needed at Alabama please help Julio
7. Ingram you could be better than you are(Running Backs we are looking for you guys to take the game early and beat the hell out of oposing teams defenses.
8. Arenas no mistakes this year
9. Seniors and all who plan to enter into the draft let’s step it up and play like you want to go 1st round #1 draft pick(Whatever it takes).
10. Stay focused and act like winners no matter what. Continue to learn from mistakes past present and future.(Fans, coches , and players)
10. coaches(correction)…….Sorry…. I’m learning.
Yeah also we need more playmakes on offense, defense and especially special teams……………… Playmakers step up…… i mean 2 #1 recruiting classes and only playermakers besides Julio seem to come Shula’s recruits. Maybe…….. nah.
Need bigtime quality plays out of the following players every game on every play:
1. Terrence Cody
2. Mark Ingram
3. Roy Upchurch
4. Julio Jones
5. Rolando McClain
6. Dont’a Hightower
7. Alonzo Lawrence
8. Javier Arenas
9. BJ Scott
10. Robby Green
11. Jerrell Harris
12. Courtney Upshaw
13.Terry Grant
14. Marquis Maze
15. Mike Johnson
16. Greg McElroy
Looking for 09 recruits to make very very big contributions to Alabama’s success every game and on every play………. Don’t let your fans down guys.
(JUCO) You guys definately have to contribute, you are major keys to success.
Helll YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Recruits need to start recruiting… put all differences, rivalries or whatever aside and let’s all work together to build a Championship Alabama Team.RTR!!!!
Focus people…. If you build it they will come.
If you build it …. they will come.
Recruits must do all than can to help recruit and build this program.
